Interiors in Watercolour with Mark Entwisle
Sun June 13, 2027 @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm BST
Spend the day painting interiors of the beautiful Arts & Crafts Stanton Guildhouse with award-winning watercolour artist Mark Entwisle. After initial introductions Mark will do a short watercolour demo of an interior and will be talking about drawing and painting what you see, not what you know. Paying attention to light and tone, colour mixing, primary and complimentary colours, applying colours, art materials, etc. Then as people start their own paintings Mark offer one to one advice and support. The emphasis is on expression rather than perfection.
All levels welcome.
Mark Entwisle studied printmaking at Cambridge College of Art and Technology, and then completed a degree in illustration at Brighton. He went on to work as an illustrator for 15 years, with clients including Penguin, Random House and the National Theatre. During this time he began to exhibit and has been the recipient of many prestigious awards and prizes, such as the BP Portrait Award, the RA Summer Show, The Discerning Eye and the Lynn Painters-Stainers Prize. Mark also teaches part-time at the National Portrait Gallery.
Mark will also be leading a Portraits in Watercolour workshop the day before in Broadway village (12th June), in case you want to attend both.
