Join us for a hands-on willow-weaving workshop to create your very own beautiful Giant Willow Bee!

Using natural willow, you’ll learn how to weave and shape the bee’s body, add its distinctive wings and legs then create his antennae that bring this characterful sculpture to life. Your bee will be approx 35cm long, 70cm across the wings and mounted on a stake at a height of 150cm.

What’s included:

  • All willow and materials needed to make your bee.
  • Step-by-step guidance and tuition throughout the workshop with a professional weaver.
  • Tips and techniques to help you shape and secure your willow as you weave.

What to bring: Just yourself and a little creativity! Wear comfortable clothing suitable for crafting.

Suitable for

Adult Beginners and those with some willow-weaving experience. You don’t need to have woven before, just be ready to get hands-on with the willow. A degree of hand strength is needed to make the most out of the day as this is an all day activity and not suitable for those with reduced hand dexterity

You’ll leave with a unique, handmade garden sculpture, full of rustic charm and perfect for adding a touch of wildlife-inspired character to your garden or outdoor space.

Tickets:  £115 (15 Places)

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on 15th March and 1 week earlier for benefactors of the festival who qualify for priority booking.

What to bring:
An apron may be useful or old clothes as the willow can be damp.
You can work without gloves, but a thin pair can help with grip. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for crafting.
