Discover painting trees in acrylics using large, expressive brushstrokes, vibrant flashes of colour, while avoiding drawing every leaf. You will be shown how to create a more impactful, impressionistic painting by choosing a colour scheme, applying large blocks of paint at the start, using ‘negative shape’ techniques and understating details. You’ll also discover the unique qualities of painting in acrylics, from drying times to understanding colour shifts.  There will be practical demonstrations and one to ones to guide you all the way.

The course is suitable for beginners and more advanced painters wishing to take on new ideas. Attendees will leave with a greater appreciation of painting portraits in acrylics and a portrait painting of their own.

Hashim Akib is a professional artist and has written five art books, including the best-selling ‘Painting Portraits in Acrylics’ for Search Press.
