En Plein Air Workshop at Batsford Arboretum with Paul-Talbot Greaves RI
Thu October 5 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm BST| £95.00
In this plein air workshop at Batsford Arboretum, you will be guided towards using colour as part of your considered composition by Paul Talbot-Greaves RI.
Working in acrylics or oils, you will focus on the shapes and colours of autumn or any interesting colour within the trees to make a statement painting. Looking at the use of colour theory, you will be introduced to utilising a connecting colour to tie a painting together, giving it vitality and interest.
This workshop will take place in the grounds of Batsford Arboretum, home to a unique collection of some of the world’s most beautiful and rare trees, shrubs and bamboos spread across 60 acres and famous for its outstanding autumn colour. Batsford is 20 minutes drive from Broadway.
Paul has been painting and teaching for 30 years, and he has won many awards including the Chaoshan Watercolour award at the RI Painters in Watercolours exhibition 2022.
“I draw my inspiration from historical connections using layers of colour, texture, shapes and patterns applied with energy and feeling. My main inspiration is light, and the effects created by the contrasts of shadows.”
Suitable for those with some experience.
