| £85.00Carve a simple relief carving on a tablet of beautiful piece of Maltese limestone, using your own or provided pre-prepared template.
This workshop is a great introduction to stone carving, but equally engaging for the accomplished carver.
You will be introduced to a range of tools used for carving and finishing stone, then allowed to work at your own pace.
Deborah has a diploma in Stone Masonry from Bath City College and is a qualified teacher. She is based at Gloucester City Works where she leads workshops. She has been a professional sculptor for 7 years. She won The Ashburner Sculpture Prize in 2022, the Southwest Academy of Fine and Applied Arts Sculptors Award and Guest Judges Award in 2020 and Christian Arts Award 2020. Deborah Is a founder member of the Cotswold Sculptors Association.

This workshop will take place on the village green next to the marquee under shade of the trees.

Tickets go on sale through the website at 10am on 11th March, and 1 week earlier (4th March) for Benefactors of the festival who qualify for Priority Booking.
You can become a Benefactor for as little as £50 and support our Outreach Projects in doing so, applications are now open.
Materials:
The workshop will provide: a Maltese Limestone tablet (20cm x 20cm x 4cm), dummy mallet, chisels, rasps, rifflers, sandbag, sandpaper, safety wear (masks and goggles), paper and pencils.
Please wear old clothes, a head covering (to keep dust out of your hair) and closed-toed shoes.
Please bring a simple drawn template (on greaseproof paper) if you want to use your own design (30cm x 20cm x 4cm). Ideally include a narrow border. For those who do not bring designs, simple templates will be provided.
