An informal talk about surviving as a professional artist.

Freelance for 38 years, Claire Henley has illustrated such diverse things as margarine tubs and children’s books before becoming a fine artist 16 years ago. She is the current Artist in Residence at Broadway Arts Festival.

During the talk, topics will include finding your tribe, being organised, showing and selling your work, galleries, social media, multiple income streams, licensing, talks and demonstrations and, finally, your questions.
Although the emphasis will be on making money from your art, hobby artists should learn a lot too. Since there’s no magic formula, Claire will simply be talking about things that have worked for her, things that didn’t really come off, and things that were a total disaster!

There will be a Q&A session at the end of the talk and a pop-up shop of Claire’s work, cards, etc to enjoy.

Tickets  £20 (50 places) go on sale to the general public at 10am on 15th March, and 1 week earlier to festival benefactors who benefit from priority booking.
