Richard Ormond CBE who is Art Historical Advisor to the Festival was formerly Director of the National Maritime Museum and Deputy Director of the National Portrait Gallery.   He is the grandson of Violet Sargent Ormond, the sister of John Singer Sargent. She was the subject of many of Sargent's paintings and Richard Ormond has written several books about Sargent and other painters.    [...]
