The simplicity of pigment, paper and water offers an enormous variation for the artist to use to capture the atmosphere and mood of your chosen subject.

On this occasion renowned watercolour artist Brian Smith will produce a busy street scene indicating Buildings, People, Structure and Narrative with explanation of all the issues he will encounter as the demonstration develops. The painting size will be full sheet (20”x 30”) this will be followed by several atmospheric landscape studies to explain specific points.

His journey has progressed from an 18 year old in the late seventies as a trainee in a London Art Studio cleaning water pots to now with over 30 years teaching experience as his artist journey has developed. Awards from the RI, RSMA & RWS, RWA and work being shown at The Sunday Times Watercolour Exhibition, San Diego Watercolour Society and Basle Open Exhibition.
