Join us for a private tour of Stanway House and the famous water gardens.  An outstanding Jacobean Manor House, since 1533 Stanway House has been the home of The Tracys of Stanway and their descendants the Earl of Wemyss.

Home of the Earls of Wemyss, it has many literary and artistic connections – J M Barrie, creator of Peter Pan, was a frequent visitor, and donated the cricket pavilion, Lady Elcho and her two sisters were the subject of Sargent’s The Wyndham Sisters, and more recently, the house features in Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City series. An ancestor of the current Earl wrote biographies of John Singer Sargent and Edmund Gosse.
After the talk and tour of the house, you will be able to wander the grounds and marvel at the amazing gravity fountain which has been recorded at 300ft, the highest in the world!
