Make a Willow Basket with Rachel Harwood
Thu June 12 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm BST
| £110.00Join local weaver Rachel for a one-day workshop where you’ll create a charming foraging basket, perfect for carrying berries and treasures from your adventures.
Using traditional basketry techniques, you’ll learn how to craft a sturdy base, stake up the sides, and weave the basket using a variety of colours.
The workshop will conclude with adding a simple border and a practical handle, leaving you with a beautiful handmade basket to take home.
You will be working with different willows from Somerset and using a variety of weaving techniques to create your stunning basket. Rachel has been working with willow for 10 years and her background is in horticulture, which inspires her creations.
Suitable for all levels and a great introduction to working with willow, however a degree of hand strength is required to get the most out of this workshop.
