Following the new government measures announced this week, and in times of such unprecedented uncertainty, we have sadly decided that the Broadway Arts Festival will not take place in June as planned.  The safety and health of our festival-goers, artists, speakers, performers, volunteers and local population is our top priority.

We hope you understand that it has been a very difficult decision to make after so much time and effort has been put into what was to be a superb festival, but we feel it’s now the only viable option. We have notified all our performers, artists, speakers, artBEAT exhibitors, contractors and suppliers whom we really feel for during these testing economic times.

We are communicating separately with our Benefactors, Sponsors and those organisations who have made grants.

The only element of the festival that will proceed is the Open Art Competition, with the accompanying selling exhibition now being solely through the festival website online gallery, where the public will be able to buy any of the 200 finalists’ work. So artists, be sure to enter before the April 26th deadline to be in with a chance of winning a top prize of £1,000 (£2,500 other prizes) and selling your work.

Given the uncertainty of the duration and severity of the outbreak, we don’t feel able to make firm plans for future festival dates or interim events just yet. However, we will make further announcements in the coming months, so please do subscribe to our mailing list through the website and follow us on social media.

The Broadway Arts Festival Management Committee and Trustees would like to thank you all for your continued support during this very difficult time that is putting so much strain on the arts, entertainment and hospitality sectors.

We feel that the arts and creativity will come into their own during this period of social isolation, providing vital comfort and a source of joy. There has never been a better time to get creative. We will be doing our bit to support that, so watch this space.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to all sponsors, benefactors, advertisers, exhibitors, workshop leaders, demonstrators, musicians,  performers, food sellers, contractors, volunteers and festival staff for your understanding and support.

Yours sincerely,

The Broadway Arts Festival Team
