Printing without a Press Workshop
Tue August 15, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm BST| £55.00
Try your hand at two very different print techniques which you’ll be able to continue to do at home, as very little equipment is required.
- Reductive lino cut is a method of relief print to create a set of limited edition prints.
- Takuhon is a 2000 year old Chinese print method originally used to record stone shrines but also by fishermen to prove the size of their catch!
During the afternoon you will create your own printing plates using dried flowers/leaves/bubble wrap/textured wall paper/textured cloth and use takuhon to create a series of prints.
All materials will be supplied, but please bring an apron or old shirt so you can get stuck in!
Joanna Cohn is a Gloucestershire based painter/printmaker who works on both a small and large scale. She was recently awarded first prize in the Landmark Art Prize and has recently been shortlisted for the Boodle Hatfield Printing Prize and the ING Discerning Eye Bursary, and won the Nasdaq Art Prize in 2020.
This workshop will be taking place in the pretty village of Willersey at the village hall, a 5 minute drive from Broadway (postcode WR12 7PJ).
Tickets £55 (limited to 15 places)
