Join Frans Wesselman, a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers for this half day workshop focusing on dry point printing.
This workshop will suit all levels from beginners to more experienced printers as this is a chance to learn from a real , (Dutch) master of this printing artform.

The process involves incising (or scratching) your design into either a metal or plastic plate (matrix) with various sharp tools. Layers are built up to create your design and ink is rubbed onto the plate and then wiped off so that it only remains in the scratched lines. An etching press is used to run through the plate and a piece of damp paper placed on it.

It’s always a surprise when your print is revealed on the other side of the press!

All materials and equipment for this workshop will be provided on the day. Please bring a sketchbook or some drawing paper and some drawing materials.

Ink is an inherently messy business – and the ink very dark- so please make sure you wear appropriate clothing and an apron for this workshop!

This workshop is not suitable for children under 16 years of age.

This workshop will take in the Lifford Hall in Broadway
