Xuefei Yang gave us a recital yesterday evening full of virtuosity, sparkle and calm in the beautiful setting of the Broadway Golf Club with its spectacular views over the Vale of Evesham to the Malvern Hills. Her arrangement of the de Falla Spanish Dance No. 1 felt the intensity and pent-up emotion of the tango and that of the Traditional Fishermen’s song reminded us that beautiful music is timeless. Well-known Schubert and also the Paganini Caprice with its many intricate variations showed us what an accomplished musician Miss Yang is and what a pleasure it was to listen.
It was a special evening and a precursor to events at the Broadway Arts Festival 2016.
