DESCRIPTION:Spend a day mastering pastel seascapes. \nGareth will demonstrate and guide students in creating a convincing and dynamic depiction of the sea in soft pastels. \nSuitable for beginners and experienced artists alike\, reference will be provided. \nGareth is an internationally acclaimed pastel artist and winner of several prestigious awards. Master Circle member of the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS)\, a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and an Associate Artist with Unison Pastels. \nThis event will take place at The Lifford Hall in the centre of Broadway. Please use village car parks. \nTickets £90  (14 places) \nNote: We have scheduled another identical workshop on Friday 15th May. \n  \nMaterials List:\nStudents to provide all their own materials. \n\nA decent beginners set of pastels\, sketch pad\, drawing board or easel.\nPastel paper or surface to A3 or A4 size – he recommends a sanded surface such as Senellier LaCarte pastel card or any surface that is specifically for pastel.\nKitchen towel\, masking tape and wet wipes.\n\nGlassine paper will be provided to protect finished work. \nMore work by Gareth: \n \n  \nGareth Jones at the festival in 2023: \n

SUMMARY:Coastal Flowers Mixed Media Workshop with Claire Henley
DESCRIPTION:Spend the day creating a floral painting using acrylics and self-painted collage. Claire will guide you through her process\, providing collage materials\, some photographic reference and any appropriate foraged flowers\, or do bring your own.  A professional artist for forty years\, Claire exhibits and licenses her work widely. \nThis is an informal\, fun workshop involving painting\, gluing\, spattering\, scratching\, cutting and tearing. Bring an apron\, roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. There are very few rules to follow – one being that only acrylic paint can be used. \nSuitable for all abilities\, but be prepared to get messy! \nNo advanced drawing skills are necessary. \nTickets  £85  (10 places) \nMaterials List:  \n\nA rigid board or canvas sized between 40cm and 50cm\, square or rectangular.\nSelection of acrylic paint (no oils\, water-colours or anything water-soluble)\nBrushes including 1 old one for glue and 1 big one (1-2″) for backgrounds\nAcrylic palette (or plastic box with lid)\nApron\nWater pot/s\nScissors\nTable top easel if required\nCrayons (optional but must be non-water-soluble)\nPersonal reference if required.\nIf you’d rather paint garden or hedgerow flowers please do.\n\nClaire will supply (to share): \n\nCollage materials\nSpecialist glue\nReference materials\nThin card for printing\nCutting mat and scalpel\nBlotting paper and greaseproof paper\nHairdryer\nCrayons\nScratching implements\nSet square\nKitchen roll\n\nTutor: Claire Henley
