DESCRIPTION:Join willow weaver Rachel Harwood on this workshop for the day creating a fabulous 4ft willow deer sculpture for your garden\, or to use as a festive home decoration.\n\nWillow is a wonderful sustainable material great for making sculptures for the garden. You will be working with willow from Somerset. Rachel has been working with willow for 10 years and her background is in horticulture\, which inspires her creations.\n\nSuitable for beginners\, though some hand strength is needed to make the most of this workshop.\nEverything you need is included along with tea\, coffee and cake.\n\nOnly suitable for adults.\nThis workshop will take place at Willersey Village Hall\, 5 minutes drive from Broadway\, where there is ample free parking right outside the hall. \nTickets:  £110 (12 Places) \nWhat to bring:\nWillow\, tools and materials are all supplied.\nAn apron may be useful or old clothes as the willow can be damp and dirty.\nYou can work without gloves\, but a thin pair can help with grip.

DESCRIPTION:Entries are now open for our annual open art competition\, open to any artist\, in any medium including (but not restricted to) painting\, drawing\, pastels\, mixed media\, printmaking\, sculpture\, ceramics & glass.\nAny artist from across the UK can enter\, but we do have a separate prize for best entry from a local artist.\nWe had 580 entries from across the UK in 2024. Take a look at the Prize Winners and those Highly Commended  \nThis year we have increased the prize pot and added a new prize category for mixed media. \nPrizes: \n\nMain prize (any medium): £1000 – sponsored by Wychavon District Council\nMain prize runner up (any medium): £250 art materials voucher sponsored by Cotswold Art Supplies\nVisitor’s Choice Prize – an overnight stay for 2 with dinner at Grill by James Martin at The Lygon Arms Hotel in Broadway\nPainting in Oils or Acrylics Prize £500 – sponsored by Priory Gallery in Broadway\nWatercolour Prize £500 – sponsored by John Noott Galleries (Founder’s Prize)\nSculpture / 3D Prize £500 – sponsored by Susan & Jason Lewis (Trustee)\nMixed Media Prize – sponsored by Sharon Stirling & Mark Ward (Trustee)\nLocal Artist Prize of a solo weekend show – sponsored by / at Broadway Contemporary Gallery\nBest entry from a new entrant £500 – sponsored by the Painter’s Company Charities\nBest Landscape Entry Prize of a weekend show – sponsored by/at The White Gallery in Chipping Campden\n\nWe have a panel of esteemed judges\, including category judges from the sponsors. \nArtists’ work that is selected for the final judging stage form an exclusive selling exhibition at Bretforton Theatrebarn from 26th September-5th October 2025\, open daily from 11am – 4pm. Entry to the exhibition is free and there is ample free parking right outside. The exhibition space is all on the ground floor. \nSome of our finalists will be demonstrating live during the exhibition . There is a demo area in between the two main exhibition areas where artists will be able to work on a piece and chat with exhibition visitors. \nENTRY FORM & Details \nMain entry deadline is 6pm Monday 18th August.\n\nWe realise that some of you will require a little extra time\, so there is a late entry deadline of 6pm on Friday 22nd August. Late entries are charged at £25 per entry.\nBroadway Arts Festival is an arts charity\, so all the funds raised go towards their outreach projects with local schools\, bursaries for local university arts students and the next festival. \nCast your vote for Visitors’ Choice! \nWe also have a Visitors’ Choice prize. So do cast your vote for your favourite entry when you visit (one vote permitted per visitor). The prize winner will be announced and informed on the afternoon of Sunday 5th October! \nNote: We run the competition and exhibition of finalists apart from the festival as it is such a big event in its own right. \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n
