SUMMARY:Portraits in Acrylics with Hashim Akib
DESCRIPTION:Vibrant Acrylic Portraits \nDiscover portrait painting in Acrylics using large\, expressive brushstrokes\, vibrant flashes of colour and fuss-free drawing. The priority will be to reflect the essence of a character rather than produce a photographic likeness and to give your artwork a personality of its own. You will be shown how to begin with a simple ‘robot’ drawing\, the initial blocking in\, colour choices\, tonal contrasts and the final refining stages that brings the portrait to life. There will be practical demonstrations and one to ones to guide you all the way.   \nThe course is suitable for beginners and more advanced painters wishing to take on new ideas. Attendees will leave with a greater appreciation of painting portraits in acrylics and a portrait painting of their own. \nHashim Akib is a professional artist and has written five art books including the best-selling ‘Painting Portraits in Acrylics’ for Search Press. He has won numerous awards\, showcases his artwork in galleries around the country and has written features for Artist and Illustrator magazine for over ten years. He has a best-selling course on Domestika and has two paintings in the UK’s National Art Collection. \nTickets £65 (15 Places) \nTickets go on sale through the website at 10am on 15th March\, and 1 week earlier for festival benefactors who benefit from priority booking. \nMaterials List: \nReference materials will be provided and hairdryer \n\nAcrylic paint\, ideally heavy body\nCadmium Yellow Medium\nCadmium Red\nYellow Ochre\nSap Green or Hooker’s Green\nPhthalo Blue\nTitanium White\nBrushes\,\nFlat Head Brushes\, various sizes\nSomething like a 2 and 1inch\, 1.5inch\, 1/2inch\nSupports\,\nAcrylic pad or 1 or 2 canvas or boards about A3 size\nAdditional materials\,\nWater pot\, mixing tray or scrap paper\n\n
