SUMMARY:'Flushed' by Mikron Theatre Company
DESCRIPTION:Mikron Theatre are returning in 2027 after their hugely popular performances of Hush Hush at the last festival\, and Wensleydale Whey in 2026. \nA Dirty Fight for Clean Water \nFlushed will bring their signature blend of original songs and social commentary to explore the politics of public plumbing. \nKate\, Richard\, and Amy couldn’t be more different. From a tie-dye wearing hippy\, to an ex-navy canoeist\, they span the political spectrum. But one thing they all agree on; raw sewage probably shouldn’t be destroying our natural beauty spots. So\, what happens when this ragtag gang join together to try and save a river they love? \nFrom the historic Great Stink in 1858\, to ‘Cawkshire Water’ protestors kicking up a stink in 2027\, Flushed pulls no punches about an industry that sees money and effluent racing down the drain. \nThis performance will take place on the village green outside the marquee in the centre of Broadway. \nIntegrated Audio Description: Every performance has integrated audio description\, which means that they have worked hard to make the play enjoyable and interesting to listen to for all audiences without the need for headsets. \nNote: \n\nThis is a ‘Rain or Shine’ performance that will be taking place outside on the village green if the weather is fine. If the weather is challenging\, it will take place in our large marquee on the village green.\nBring camping chairs and dress warm even on a hot day as temperatures dip later on\, so do bring blankets and a warm coat.\nDogs are not permitted\n\n\nRefreshments: \n\nDo bring your own drinks and a picnic to enjoy on the night.\nThere will be local ice cream for sale from Gorsehill Abbey Farm and a Coffee Truck will be serving hot drinks and snacks (no bar).\n\n\n\nTickets: £22  will go on sale at 10am on 15th March and 1 week earlier to benefactors of the festival who qualify for priority booking. \nAbout Mikron Theatre Company: \nThe UK’s most prolific theatre company\, touring to over 130 venues per year. They tour on their narrowboat in the summer and by road in spring and autumn\, to every conceivable type of venue\, reaching audiences that other companies cannot. Their talented team of four actor-musicians perform their own original plays with music throughout the summer season.
