SUMMARY:Harbour Scene Mixed Media Workshop with Claire Henley
DESCRIPTION:During this studio-based workshop we’ll be looking at harbours and boats and how to capture them in a contemporary way. Claire will be working from a photograph to guide you through some of the layering techniques she uses in her work\, which include painting\, collage creation\, cutting\, gluing\, tearing\, scratching and spattering. \nSuitable for intermediate painters who like to experiment with acrylic and mixed media\, we’ll be working on one painting during the day\, unless you prefer to work on a series of studies. It will be a relaxed workshop\, with plenty of freedom to work at your own pace on your chosen subject matter.     \nA professional artist for 40 years\, Claire exhibits and licenses her work widely. She is the current Artist in Residence at Broadway Arts Festival.  \nTickets  £95  (10 places) \nTickets go on sale through the website at 10am on 15th March and 1 week earlier for benefactors of the festival who qualify for priority booking. \nItems to bring with you:  \n\n\nA reference photograph of a harbour (Claire will have some available\, but you might have a favourite!)\n\n\n\nAcrylic paint (no oils or watercolour)\n\n\nBrushes (including an old one for glue)\n\n\nA palette (A plastic box with a lid will be ok if you don’t have an acrylic palette)\n\n\nBoard or canvas on which to work\, preferably not paper. Mine will be appx 50x50cm but any size is fine.\n\n\nA water pot\n\n\nScratching tools\n\n\nScissors\n\n\nApron or old clothes\n\n\na few sheets of kitchen paper\n\n\n(optional) non-water-soluble crayons\n\n\n(optional) alternative collage materials such as pages from a magazine\, in addition to the tissue supplied (see below)\n\n\nClaire will supply to share (no extra cost): \n\n\nHigh grade tissue\n\n\nMatte medium for gluing\n\n\nThin card for printing\n\n\nBlotting paper and greaseproof paper for palettes\, if required\n\n\nHair dryer/s\n\n\nCutting mat and scalpel\n\n\nTutor: Claire Henley
