SUMMARY:Wensleydale Whey\, The Grate Cheese Quest by Mikron Theatre Company
DESCRIPTION:Mikron Theatre are returning in 2026 after their sell-out performance of Hush Hush at the last festival! \nIn 2026 they will transport you to the Yorkshire Dales in a hilarious quest to revive a lost recipe. The stakes are high: the Monks from the Abbey are desperately seeking a living soul to resurrect their traditional Wensleydale cheese. This charming tale promises a gouda time as it immerses you in a world of ghosts\, grievances\, and glorious cheese.\nWe’ll delve into the rich history of cheese\, from its humble beginnings to its place on the most sophisticated platters\, featuring a cast of characters who are whey out there.\nExpect a cheesy plot\, a sprinkle of drama\, and plenty of fromage-tastic musical numbers.\nJoin us for a slice of the action – it’s going to be a legen-dairy Mikron show.\nIt’s time to Brie-lieve in the power of cheese! \nThis performance will take place in the exclusive private grounds of  Abbots Grange in the centre of Broadway\, just steps from the village green. Built in the early part of 14th-century as the summer manor house and retreat for the Abbot of Pershore\, it’s original medieval architecture\, setting and serenity have attracted some remarkable house guests including Claude Monet\, Oscar Wilde\, John Singer Sargent\, Mark Twain and Edward Elgar. \nNote: \n\nThis is a ‘Rain or Shine’ performance that will be taking place outside on the lawns of Abbots Grange and will go ahead despite rain or the like (no refunds)\nBring camping chairs and dress warm even on a hot day as temperatures dip later on\, so do bring blankets and a warm waterproof coat.\nDogs are not permitted\nIntegrated Audio Description: Every performance of Wensleydale Whey has integrated audio description\, which means that Mikron have worked hard to make the play enjoyable and interesting to listen to for all audiences without the need for headsets.\nPlease use village car parks. If you require blue badge parking or drop off please email boxoffice@broadwayartsfestival.com to arrange in advance.\nThe doors will open at 5pm.\n\n\nRefreshments: \n\nFeel free to bring a picnic to enjoy on the night.\nThere will be a horse box bar\, as well as local ice cream for sale from Gorsehill Abbey Farm and a coffee truck will be serving hot drinks and snacks.\n\nThis event is kindly sponsored by Charles Stanley Wealth Managers who have also donated a Fortnum & Mason hamper worth £150 for us to raffle. You can purchase your tickets when you buy your theatre tickets. Winner will be notified the day after the performance. \nOvernight Accommodation: For those looking to make a weekend of it\, Abbots Grange is offering a special weekend overnight accommodation package. Book direct with the hotel. \n\nTickets: \n £22 (Adults)    £17 (U18s – suitable for age 10+)     \nAbout Mikron Theatre Company: \nThe UK’s most prolific theatre company\, touring to over 130 venues per year. We tour on our narrowboat in the summer and by road in spring and autumn\, to every conceivable type of venue\, reaching audiences that other companies cannot. Our talented team of four actor-musicians perform our original plays with music throughout the summer season. \nThe venue: the grounds of Abbots Grange in the centre of Broadway
