DESCRIPTION:artBEAT is the opening 3 day weekend for the festival that showcases the work of some of Britain’s top artists\, designers and artisans in the marquees on the village green in this idyllic Cotswold village. \nThroughout the weekend the marquees house 50+ talented artists\, printmakers\, sculptors\, jewellers\, ceramicists\, designer-makers and a host of traditional artisans demonstrating their skills & selling their work direct to the public. Bring the whole family to watch these talented artists at work. \nOpen Friday 11th\, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th June from 10:30am to 4:30pm daily. \nEntry is just £1 (under 16’s free) \nApplications to take a stand at artBEAT open in August 2026. DESCRIPTION:Join us in the historic Russell House Gardens in Broadway\, famously painted by John Singer Sargent in his masterpiece Carnation\, Lily\, Lily\, Rose. This unique experience offers an hour-long time slot where you can observe 3 professional artists as they capture a scene featuring models dressed in the attire of Sargent’s era. Stroll through the beautiful garden\, soak up the 19th-century ambience\, and witness artistic talent in action. \nYour ticket for a 1 hour time slot to watch the demonstration also includes access to the garden\, an invitation to return at 3 pm for an exhibition of the completed paintings and the chance to engage with the artists. \nThis is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for art lovers\, gardeners and history enthusiasts alike—don’t miss out! \nThe Artists: \nHaidee-Jo Summers VPROI RSMA (Festival Ambassador)– Haidee-Jo is Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and her work is a celebration of light filled moments revealed in rich and vibrant oil paint. She finds beauty in the ordinary\, mundane\, and intimate rather than the grand vista.   She has written two books on oil painting. \nDavid Curtis ROI RSMA – David is one of the country’s finest and best-known painters.  He has won numerous awards and has written several books.  He represents the gold standard of modern day “real painters”. \nTushar Sabale WGA\, CAS (Festival Ambassador) – Tushar is an award-winning Indian born\, British artist based in London.  He paints mainly from life and plein air in oil colours but occasionally enjoys painting objects.  He places his work between Impressionism and Realism and some Luminist touches. \nThe artists will start at 11am and finish by 3pm\, so this time slot is for the final hour. There will be a chance to chat with the artists immediately afterwards. \nTickets £20 \nTickets go on sale through the website at 10am on 15th March\, and 1 week eaerlier for festival benefactors who benefit from priority booking. \n  \n \nThe Gardens at Russell House \n  \n \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:The Great Broadway Paint-Off 2027
DESCRIPTION:Your chance to draw or paint our beautiful Cotswolds village for the day and be in with a chance of winning great prizes along with other artists from across the UK! \nThis is a very popular event that attracts both professional and emerging artists. \n\nJudges in 2027 will include our Festival Artist in Residence\, Claire Henley and Festival Ambassador Haidee-Jo-Summers VPROI RSMA who will walk the village to chat with the artists during the day. \nNOTE: we will also be holding a separate Portrait Paint-Off at the Lifford Hall the day before on Saturday 19th June for those who prefer painting people rather than en plein air! Or you can choose to compete in both. \n\n\nHow does it work? \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy your ticket through the website well in advance and before 15th May. Note: You can only buy a ticket for yourself\, not multiples for friends.\nTurn up with your blank canvas and your kit at the marquee on the village green in the centre of the village in the time slot you selected to check in and get your canvas stamped & numbered on the reverse.\nSpend the day creating your masterpiece at your chosen location in or around the village (you can paint up at Broadway Tower too).\nGet your work of art back to the marquee anytime from 2pm\, but by 3:30pm at the very latest when the doors will close for judging.\nIf you have used an easel\, please leave it on your easel for display in the exhibition.\nIf you would like to sell your work\, have the price ready to provide to us when you hand it back in.\nThe entries will then form a selling exhibition and be judged. Prize-winners will see a ribbon on their piece when the exhibition opens at 4pm.\nThe selling exhibition is then open to the public for all to enjoy from 4pm to 5pm.\nThe winner of the Visitors’ Choice Prize will be announced at 4:45pm\nOnly artwork started and completed on the day will qualify.\nArtwork can be in any medium & any size\, however we cannot accept photography or iPad art as a medium for a number of reasons.\nWe process all artwork sales at the exhibition through our card machine and then transfer 90% of the sale price directly to your bank account in the following days. 10% of all sales are retained as commission to help cover the costs of running the competition. A red dot will appear on sold works.\n\nThis event will go ahead despite poor weather (no refunds) – so please dress appropriately! \n\n\n\nThere are 85 tickets available for this event and they need to be purchased in advance (not available on the day). This is a popular event that tends to sell out 6 weeks prior. \nParticipants will need to bring their own paper\, canvas and art supplies. These will not be provided. \nYou will have a choice of registration slot at the gazebo on the village green: \nEarly Birds: 8:30-9:30am \nStill Keen: 9:30-10:30am\n \nBroadway Arts Festival accepts no responsibility for loss\, damage or injury during the day. \nTickets (£25) will go on sale to the general public at 10am on 15th March\, and 1 week earlier for Festival Benefactors who qualify for priority booking. \n
