SUMMARY:2025 Art Competition Exhibition of Finalists
DESCRIPTION:Our annual open art competition is open to any artist in any medium\, professional & amateur.\nArtists’ work that is selected for the final judging stage forms an exclusive selling exhibition of 150 works at Theatrebarn in Bretforton (15 mins drive from Broadway) from Friday 26th September – Sunday 5th October\, open daily from 11am – 4pm. Entry to the exhibition is free and there is ample free parking onsite. \nWe received 670 entries from across the UK\, and the 150 finalists and prize-winners form this exclusive selling exhibition in the beautiful buildings and grounds of Theatrebarn. \nThe exhibition is an exciting array of beautiful works in a huge range of style and to fit every budget. Perfect if you have a bare wall\, nook or windowsill and are looking for a bespoke piece of British art\, or to simply admire! \nAll the works are available to buy. If you see a piece that you would like to purchase\, please go to the sales desk and they will assist you. \nYou will have a chance to see one of our finalists at work during your visit as we have a schedule of live demonstrations for the duration of the exhibition\, 2 per day. \nBroadway Arts Festival is an arts charity\, so all the funds raised go towards their outreach projects with local schools\, bursaries for local university arts students and the next festival. \nCast your vote for Visitors’ Choice! \nWe also have a Visitors’ Choice prize. So do cast your vote for your favourite entry when you visit (one vote permitted per visitor). Note: You can only buy a ticket for yourself\, not multiples for friends.\nTurn up with your blank canvas and your kit at the marquee on the village green in the centre of the village in the time slot you selected to check in and get your canvas stamped & numbered on the reverse.\nSpend the day creating your masterpiece at your chosen location in or around the village (you can paint up at Broadway Tower too).\nGet your work of art back to the marquee anytime from 2pm\, but by 3:30pm at the very latest. If you have used an easel\, please leave it on your easel for display in the exhibition.\nIf you would like to sell your work\, tell us the price when you hand it back in.\nThe entries will then form a selling exhibition and be judged. Prize-winners will see a ribbon on their piece when the exhibition opens at 4pm.\nThe selling exhibition is then open to the public for all to enjoy from 4pm to 5pm.\nOnly artwork started and completed on the day will qualify.\nArtwork can be in any medium & any size\, however we cannot accept photography or iPad art as a medium for a number of reasons.\nWe process all artwork sales at the exhibition through our card machine and then transfer 90% of the sale price directly to your bank account in the following days. 10% of all sales are retained as commission to help cover the costs of running the competition. You will receive a text if your entry sells at the exhibition.\n\nThis event will go ahead despite poor weather (no refunds) – so please dress appropriately! \n\n\n\nThere are 80 tickets available for this event and they need to be purchased in advance\, by 30th May at the latest.\n \nParticipants will need to bring their own paper\, canvas and art supplies. SUMMARY:The Pearson Silver Collection at Court Barn Museum Chipping Campden
DESCRIPTION:The Pearson Silver Collection\, the largest collection of post-World War II British designer silver in private hands\, is regarded as being of national importance. It encompasses vintage silver from 1945 together with contemporary pieces and represents the story of modern British Silversmithing. \nA selection of pieces from the collection will form an exhibition at Court Barn Museum in Chipping Campden during the festival. \nYou can also enjoy the fascinating permanent display at Court Barn which tells the story of CR Ashbee and the Arts & Crafts Movement in Chipping Campden. The Arts and Crafts movement stimulated a wealth of individual creativity in the North Cotswolds in silversmithing\, stained glass work\, book binding\, furniture making\, printing and many other crafts which continues today. \nEntry tickets are to be purchased directly from Court Barn Museum which is open from 10am-5pm (closed on Mondays).  Adults £7 and students and those under 25 are free. \nSilver Day \nWe are having a special ‘Silver Day’ at the festival on Saturday 14th June\, to include two talks on the subject of silver design at Cidermill Theatre\, a short 5 minute walk from the museum: \n\n‘A Sterling Renaissance – British Silver Design from the 1950s to date’ by John Andrew Curator/Owner of the Pearson Collection. 11am-12:30pm\n‘Robert Welch – Crafting a Design Legacy’ by Charlotte Booth of Robert Welch. 3-4pm\n\nThe ticket price for each of the above talks includes entry to this exhibition at Court Barn Museum. \nWhy not make a day of it? \nThis exhibition and Silver Day is kindly sponsored by The Goldsmiths’ Company \nCourt Barn Museum\, Chipping Campden

DESCRIPTION:The distinguished American portrait painter Michael Shane Neal will be in conversation with Arts Festival Ambassador and Great-Nephew of John Singer Sargent\, Richard Ormond\, former director of the National Maritime Museum\, Greenwich and art scholar. \nThis will be a fascinating insight into the creative process of portrait painting\, in honour of the 100th anniversary of John Singer Sargent’s death. In conversation together they will share unique insight into how great art is created. An unmissable event for lovers of Sargent and for amateur and professional artists. \nThe ticket price for this talk includes entry to the centenary exhibition at the Broadway Museum and Art Gallery  ‘John Singer Sargent: Sargent’s Circle’. There is a demo area in between the two main exhibition areas where artists will be able to work on a piece and chat with exhibition visitors. \nENTRY FORM & Details \nMain entry deadline is 6pm Monday 18th August.\n\nWe realise that some of you will require a little extra time\, so there is a late entry deadline of 6pm on Friday 22nd August.
