Ruth Parkinson-Johns is a local Textile artist and tutor who takes inspiration from her surroundings, the landscapes, wild flowers and the ever changing weather.

On this workshop you’ll get the opportunity to experiment in creating your own piece of textile art – an abstract landscape using innovative techniques. You’ll colour and manipulate different materials to reflect your chosen landscape and then use layering and hand stitching to create your piece.

Ruth will provide fabrics, fabric paint, needles and threads.
Students should bring an apron, paint brushes (if you have them), inspiration photographs of landscapes focusing on colour and texture. Please also bring a hairdryer to use if you have one.

This event will take place in the Lifford Hall.
