The class is intended for artists with experience at working from the life model who seek an opportunity to further develop their skills and insights. I will pay particular attention to the role of anatomy and the quality of light and reflected light on the figure under controlled lighting effects. Feel free to employ your favourite medium.

This year Simon brings his broad knowledge and experience of drawing and painting techniques, and anatomy for artists, to this life-drawing workshop designed specifically for artists with plenty of experience at working from the life model.

This is a great chance to spend a couple of hours in like company tackling what I think is the most exciting and rewarding of subjects in art. Good figurative painting and drawing is always underpinned with a sound appreciation of anatomy no matter how “loose” or abstracted the artist’s technique. The role of light should never be underestimated. I never cease to be amazed by the infinite possibilities presented by the figure in front of me.
