Children’s “Let’s Paint!” Workshop with Artist in Residence Antonia Black
Sat June 12 @ 10:00 am - 10:45 am
An opportunity for youngsters to paint with our enthusiastic artist in residence, Antonia Black!
In her “Let’s paint!” session, Antonia will encourage the children to paint big, bright landscapes, full of colour and the joys of a great British summer from beach scenes, rivers and boats to gardens and flowers, friends at play, bike rides, strawberries and ice cream, sunsets, the moon & stars. They can choose any theme they like and work on their own beautiful big creation to take home.
A prolific, professional Australian artist who settled locally in The Cotswolds, Antonia originally studied at the National Art School in Sydney, and then spent 5 years at the Slade in London.
She has exhibited widely in England and abroad and gained many prestigious awards for her vibrant and lively work.
Antonia’s paintings radiate her own ‘joie de vivre’. Lively and spontaneous she paints with passion, both still life and outdoors, often on big sheets of heavy watercolour paper. Always colourful and exuberant they reflect the artist’s own irrepressible personality.
Antonia is a colourist combining brilliant non-naturalistic colour with vigorous expressive brushwork. She has years of experience teaching drawing and watercolour in secondary schools and in adult education as a professional art tutor. She enthuses students of all ages and abilities with her love of watercolour medium combined with pastel, gouache and ink. She strongly believes in encouraging creativity, spontaneity and enjoyment of the arts.
This event will take place in the marquee on the village green.
